Yes, it’s that time of the year again, the time when the entire retail world holds their breath for next year’s fashion creations. September 8th marked the beginning of Spring 2011 Fashion Week in NYC.

Who was your BEST & WORST dressed of the night?

Skinny still IN?!

Într-una din zilele trecute citeam într-un număr din ELLE cum ca a apărut un nou trend în ceea ce priveşte mărimile modelelor de catwalk, si anume se poarta femeile cu forme... Hmmm.... Asta spun cei care se pricep la moda sau cei care încearcă sa ne încurajeze pe noi cititoare?! Pt ca la prezentările Mercedes-Benz din cadrul New York Fashion Week pt sezonul Spring/Summer 2011 modelele supper skinny au defilat cu nonşalanţă, cu feţele palide si obosite, si cu toate oscioarele la vedere. Se pare ca aceste modele curvy, sunt mai mult de faţadă si îşi fac aparitia in deosebi la final, cum apar si vedetele în prezentările foarte slabe, si asta nu pt ca fac parte din vreun trend promovat de designeri, ci pur si simplu pt a atrage atentia asupra colecţie. Si atunci nu înţeleg aceste articole de faţadă din revistele glossy, cu fel de fel de teorii cum ca nu contează kg, sau ca nu contează frumuseţea, etc... Sa fie ele o bătaie pe umăr din partea unor femei lafel de slabe, ca si aceste modele ce defilează, imbracate doar in faine de firma, si plimbate prin cele mai fine locuri din Europa, sau doar o tehnica de a recupera un target în continua scădere?! Orice ar fi, sunt false si cu siguranţă nu ajuta pe nimeni, nici pe cele care se lupta cu kg, sau pe cele care încearcă sa se menţină în forma mergand la sală, si nici măcar pe cele care si-ar dori cîteva kg în plus. Probabil ar ajuta cu ceva mentalitatea colectivă, dacă cei care promovează moda la orice nivel, ar fi ei înşişi un model de sănătate si de naturaleţe.

Trend Watch: Skinny Cargo Pants

After J Brand began to mass produce the Houlihan style,  they have sold over 75,000 pairs of the pants since January and has another 40,000 pairs on backorder.
